How to: Put a Nendoroid head on a Cu-poche body

Nendoroids are super cute and all, but sometimes their poses are too limited, or you may want to dress them up in cute doll clothes instead of the normal body they came with. There are a few bodies which are more flexible, and you can fit nendoroid heads on them. The two most popular are Obitsuroid 11cm and the Cu-poche bodies.

Personally I prefer the using the Cu-pouche, and here are a few reasons why:
  1. You can do a reversible mod on the Cu-poche and Nendoroid neck joints to make them fit really well (I'll show you how!) without sacrificing a head or joint for a permanent mod.
  2. Cu-poche bodies are easily posable and they stand well with magnets at their feet.
  3. Cu-poche sells extra cloth clothing that suits the bodies very well too!
Here's how to do the reversible mod.

You will need:
1x Nendoroid with separate neck joint from the face. Older models of nendoroid have neck joints that are permanently attached to faces.
1x Cu-poche body. I used the School Swimsuit Body female version.
1x Penknife (or something to pry open the joints)
1x Tweezers

Step 1: Separate Nendoroid neck joint from the neck piece. This will take some maneuvering and pulling. You can use a pair of tweezers to try and push the joint out. When separated, they should look like that:

Step 2: Separate the Nendoroid and Cu-poche joints from each half using a penknife to gently pry them open. This should not need too much force. You will notice that the Cu-poche neck joint is shorter. When separated, they should look like this (Nendoroid left, Cu-poche right):

Step 3: Combine the Cu-poche joint with the hole and Nendoroid joint with the peg. Cu-poche side will fit to the Cu-poche body, and Nendoroid side fits to Nendoroid neck piece and head. You will have 2 extra joint pieces, keep them just in case you want to switch them back.

Step 4: Insert the modified joint into the Nendoroid neck piece and then connect it up with the Cu-poche body.

Step 5: Add in your favourite character's head pieces and you are done!

  3. Thanks for this! Though Its a bit loose due to the cupoche joint. Is there a way to tighten the joints so they stay on?
